A WWII U.S. Maritime Commission Clock by Chelsea. A rare surviving, time only, U.S. Maritime Commission engine room bulkhead clock used aboard U.S. Victory Ships, produced by Chelsea Clock Company during the WW II period. This is an 11 jewel, 8 day movement. The serial number "413217" (etched on the face and back) dates this clock from 1940-1944. It is housed in a black phenolic case with a silver face and clear black etched numbering, and survives in good running condition with expected wear from an authentic WWII maritime clock. the silvered face with smudges in various areas. Easy access hinged front opening bezel. The face displays in 60 second, 12 hour configuration with black hour hands and sweep second hand. Currently in good running order. Comes with winding key.
