Authentic World War II era ship's bell clock made by the Chelsea Clock Company of Boston, Massachusetts for the Sun Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co., Chester, PA.. with matching serial numbers 451054, that dates to the year 1944. It has a 6 inch silvered brass dial with bold Arabic numerals and minute chapter swept by classic blued steel hands. The Fast/Slow adjustment is located below the number 12. Hinged bezel opening on the left with a thumbscrew lock. The the bezel of this clock is Bakelite and the case is zinc, a standard military case due to the wartime shortage of brass. Three bulkhead mounting holes are located on the back flange. The clockcase measures 7- inches OA in diameter (including the hinge and thumbscrew), the flange also measures 7 3/4 inches and is by 3 1/2 inches thick. Weighs a hefty 7.70 pounds.  Comes with winding key.
 
CONDITION: The clock runs and keeps perfect time, but the bell strike needs to be adjusted to strike properly.  The last service date of 08/01 (2001) is written on a pice of paper attached to the back of the case.
