Vintage (1970's) anchor lantern (ankerlicht) that we have repurposed into a nautical table lamp. This handsome anchor lantern is constructed of solid copper with brass fittings. Features a thick, ribbed clear glass Fresnel lens, top brass swing handle and hoisting rings on both sides. The brass banner located on the front top of the lantern states "ANKERLICHT." Dutch for anchor light. The lantern retains a wonderful weathered oxblood dark red surface patina with hints of verdigris green and survives in excellent condition throughout. This is truly a beautiful nautical fixture retaining an absolutely spectacular wathered patina.
The table lamp comes with all new electrical parts and wiring. The surface has been meticulously cleaned and hand-waxed, to enhance the lantern appearance and protect the aged patina surface. Lamp lighting choices toggle between the interior light and the lamp light via the upper light switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. The interior bulb is reached through the hinged lid and is also open at the bottom of the base. Measures 7 inches in diameter (not including wire guards and hoisting rings)and stands 24 inches tall to the top of the lamp shade (as shown). Weighs 7 pounds.
Price does not include lamp shade. Shown here with our 16 inch white linen shade.
