Authentic, American manufactured early 20th century galvanized metal marine anchor lantern, that we have repurposed into a functional nautical table lamp. Originally a kerosene burning lantern, this old seafaring marine fixture now makes a wonderful lamp for your nautical interior, with lots of boating appeal.
DESCRIPTION: The lanterns brass top cap sits above "Christmas tree" formed smoke vents. The lamp body retains a wonderful weather aged pewter-grey surface, with traces of an old, probably original red paint. The 360 degrees glass Freznel lens survives in good condition, with only a few blemishes on the rare, light-purple hued glass lens. The Freznel lens is surrounded with a series of seaworn protection guards and a pair of hoisting rings located at the bottom of the fixture. The lantern is open at bottom to access the interior light socket.
The lamp lighting choices toggle between the interior lantern light and the upper lamp via the upper light switch. You can choose either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both on or off as desired. The nautical lamp measures 20 inches tall to the top of the lamp shade (as shown) and 5 1/2 inches in diameter at lantern base. This is a wonderful authentic nautical lantern with lot's of maritime charm, repurposed for today's seaside home!
