An American Victorian Cottage style tilt-top accent table, hand-crafted of maple and cherry, circa 1880. This antique round top table features a nautical themed etch-carved design of a fully-rigged ship under sail, surrounded by a triangular designed outer border and completed with a thumb-molded edge. Triangular chip-carved geometic designs around the perimeter of the lathe-turned table pedestal, ending in three lightly chip-carved scrolling tri-legs. This table has the ability to be stored away when not in use thanks to the tilting mechanism that allows its top to be positioned in an upright orientation. The upright position was also designed for displaying the artwork on the table top. The round table top with polygon skirt and legs are made of maple and the pedestal is turned out of cherry. This tilt-top table has local provenance and was most likely made here in mid-coast region of Maine. A wonderful accent piece for your nautical room and coastal home!   Stands 22 ½ inches tall and the top measures 21 inches in diameter.
