Pocket compass made for use by American military officers during the 1st & 2nd World Wars. Made of brass in the shape of a pocket watch, unsigned, but identical to those manufactured for Waltham. The compass has a snap-on cover with release button inside the ring. Compass card with eight directional points, complete with 360 degree circle for the calculation of horizontal angles. Engraved U.S. on the front of the cover. Excellent condition with no wear to the original lacquered finish. Fully functional. Comes with the original cloth bag and cardboard storage box. Measures:1 5/8 inches in diameter.
