A vintage Woolie "Embroidered Portrait of an American Clipper Ship Under Sail", wool and silk on linen ground. Woolwork of a mid-19th century American clipper, flying an American 20 star flag. Black and white hull on an all blue ground with wool waves and clouds in the sky. The sailing ship adorns a gold eagle figurehead (possible the clipper ship, the National Eagle). An identical woolwork to this one was stated to be signed on the back by the artist "Margery Lucille McNeil Gugler, 6-65 (probably 1965)."  Simple painted wood frame. Measures 27 in. x 16.75 in. Framed 28.25 in. x 17.75 in.

CONDITION: The woolwork art piece survives with a few water stain marks on the  lower sails, otherwise this piece is in good condition.
