Classic, WWII era US Navy quarterdeck bell. The bell was cast in iron (as many were) and USN embossed above the bells lower rim. Measures a base diameter of 9 1/2 inches and a height of 9 inches including mounting stem and weighs approximately 17 pounds. Retains its original bell clapper and heavy steel bulkhead mounting bracket. Impressive loud bell ring. This Navy bell is well preserved and would make a nice addition to a military maritime collection.

*According to naval history, bells during the height of the second World War were cast in iron due to a limitation of bronze and brass for actual combat essentials.
