An authentic early 20th century galvanized metal anchor lantern. The manufacturers brass tag mounted on the front states "TRIPLEX \ TRADE MARK LENSE PAT'D DEC. 20, 1910, OTHER PATS PEND." Copper chimney cap with bail ring handle.  The original removable all brass burner is embossed P & A MFG. CO. WATERBURY CONN."on the wick advance knob. Iron wire guards protect the Triplex style Fresnel lense. 
CONDITION: Galvanized body in good condition, retaining a soft pewter grey patina. The copper chimney cap is dented. There is a crack in the glass on one side of the lense, but is completely intact and does not effect the lense use. Stands 11 1/2 inches tall, exclusive of the bail handle.and 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
