An exceptional 19th century relief carved in oval mahogany panel depicting a 17th century galleon ship (possibly the Golden Hinde) under sail with flags flying and sailing  on heavy seas. The carving is made of 1 inch thick solid mahogany in 3 planks adhered together.There are 4 large old wood screws in the back that pierce through the front which originally held this carving in place. No provenance. Measures 9 7/8 X 14 1/4 inches.
