Perko / Perkins Brass Masthead Light

This is an early 20th century Perko made solid brass Ship's masthead lantern. Features thick glass 225 degrees Fresnel lens. The brass tag states "PERKO TRADE MARK, MANUFACTURED BY PERKINS MARINE LAMP & HARDWARE CORP., BROOKLYN N.Y. USA." The lantern shows years of seafaring use, including pockmarks and small dents on the top of the brass housing as well as some chips on the edge of the glass. This marine light stands 15 inches tall including the handle, 11 ½ inches across the flat back including hoist hoops and 9 inches in depth. The bezel top is soldered shut, but is open at the bottom to reach the interior light fixture. Retains a wonderful old bronze patina but could be polished for a bright brass finish. Electrified years ago for exterior home use. Weighs 12 pounds.
