A quality vintage handcrafted nautical bar for your nautical room, yacht or coastal home. Custom made thick pine base with foot rest in front and shelving in back for bottle and glass storage. Composed of three separate parts bolted together including a base and center section made with hand-hewed pine boards and a WWII era hatch cover top salvaged from the Victory ship 'DIAMOND HEAD' HULL #AE 19. A brass label mounted on the front states "SUB-SEA ARTIFACTS, ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND and DIAMOND HEAD 1945 in center. A framed certificate of authenticity accompanies this custom made bar.
The hatch cover top measures 18 inches deep X 58 inches wide and 3 inches thick. The total height to the top of the bar is 44 inches and the total depth with foot rest measures 24 inches.
*According to the accompanying certificate, the Victory ship 'DIAMOND HEAD' was built by the North Carolina Shipbuilding Company, Wilmington, North Carolina, Hull # AE19 and transferred to the navy on the 10th of March, 1945 with Lt. Cmdr. F.C. Snow in command and reported to Norfolk: Service force- Atlantic, for active sea duty 20 September 1945.
