Folk art carved full-bodied wooden eagle, similar in style to the carvings of the 19th century Pennsylvania folk artist Wilhelm Schimmel, with spread wings and head facing right, mouth open and talons clutching plinth. The eagle is carved from a single piece of wood. Age and artist is not known. A delightful, well presented carving! Measures; width: 19 inches, Depth: 3 1/2 inch depth, Height: 12 1/2 inches. One small repair on the tip of the left wing.
