A large, solid brass WWII gimballed liquid-filled United States Navy's Bureau of Ships boat compass fitted in a finger dovetailed varnished mahogany box. The rim of the compass is inscribed "BUSHIPS, BECK-LEE CORP., #706, -5 ILL, 1942." Compass housing retains the original navy grey painted outer surface and black painted outer top edge and gimbal. The compass face is printed BECK-LEE CORP. and a fleur-de-lis at point 0.  Missing storage top to box. Some surface wear on the compass glass. The liquid in the compass has a bubble but is in good working order.
